BOW is one of Duke University’s largest student-run organizations, dedicated to empowering women interested in business by fostering education, experience, and exchange between students and industry professionals.
BOW（ビジネス志向女性協会）は、デューク大学で最大規模を誇る学生運営団体の一つであり、ビジネスに関心を持つ女性を対象に、教育・実践・業界関係者との交流の機会を通じてそのエンパワーメントを目指しています。
In the interview, Rachel reflected on her academic and professional journey—from studying Public Policy and Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (AMES) at Duke University to pursuing a Master’s degree in Regional Studies East Asia (RSEA) at Harvard University and gaining international experience across diverse industries.
インタビューの中でリン・レイチェルは、デューク大学で公共政策およびアジア・中東研究（AMES）を学んだ学生時代から、ハーバード大学で東アジア地域研究（RSEA）の修士課程を修了し、多様な業界で国際的な経験を積んできた自身の学術的・職業的な歩みを振り返りました。
These varied experiences ultimately led her to co-found SeiRogai, Inc., a media company with a mission to connect Japan to the world—particularly by bridging Japan and Southeast Asia. SeiRogai primarily supports Japanese companies expanding overseas and foreign companies entering the Japanese market. Its tourism-related initiatives involve close collaboration with government entities to promote lesser-known and rural regions, helping revitalize local economies, foster sustainable tourism, and narrow the rural-urban divide.
こうした多様な経験を経て、リン・レイチェルは最終的に株式会社SeiRogaiを共同創業しました。同社は、「日本と世界をつなぐ」こと、特に日本と東南アジアとの架け橋となることを使命とするメディア企業です。SeiRogaiは主に、海外展開を目指す日本企業および日本市場への参入を図る外国企業を支援しており、観光関連の取り組みにおいては、地方自治体などの政府機関と連携しながら、あまり知られていない地域や農村部の魅力を発信することで、地域経済の活性化、持続可能な観光の推進、そして都市と地方の格差是正に取り組んでいます。
Rachel shared how her international background—shaped through overseas education and professional work in policy research, private equity, and entertainment—equipped her with the skills to launch and lead a media startup in Japan. She also reflected on the challenges of entrepreneurship, particularly navigating Japan’s complex business environment as a foreigner, and emphasized the capabilities that helped her overcome these hurdles.
リン・レイチェルは、海外での教育や政策リサーチ、プライベート・エクイティ、エンターテインメント分野での職務経験を通じて培った国際的なバックグラウンドが、日本でのメディアスタートアップの立ち上げと経営に必要なスキルを身につける助けとなったと語りました。また、起業家としての課題、特に外国人として日本の複雑なビジネス環境を乗り越える難しさに触れ、それらの壁を克服するために必要な能力を強調しました。
She concluded the interview with thoughtful advice for aspiring entrepreneurs, underscoring the importance of resilience, risk-taking, strong support networks, and unwavering determination.
